Golden Boy

The book I am reading now is called Golden Boy. This is the second book I've read so far, I have read a book called Until We Meet Again and my current book. This is an interesting novel, it started off really boring and then Friday I was reading it and it got really good. I'm not going to spoil the book but I will share a little about what I have read so far. The main character is Habo, he is 13 years old and he has three older siblings. They live with their mother in Arusha. They have a farm and Habo keeps track of the sheep. Their mother was struggling and they had to leave their home so they traveled to Mwanza where their mother's sister lives. Habo was the "black sheep" of the family, Habo was different. He had white skin, yellow hair and light colored eyes. That's why his sister Asu called him "golden boy". His brothers barely talked to him and his mother rarely looked at him because he was different. In Mwanza they called people like Habo albinos and albinos were "good luck". Well at least their body parts are good luck. This is all I'm going to share about my story, I would recommend  this book to people who like mysterious books.

  1. "Albino" is a word in Spanish too, which is used to describe people with really light skin and light eye/hair color. I don't understand why his mom acts like that with him. I mean...it doesn't matter if he's different, he's still her son. I like the way you described how things are for Habo so far. Good post!
